Federation Questions

Player Related

What are the benefits of joining a federation?

There are a couple benefits, and they are as follows

Increased gain in FE due to merchandise (this is worked out randomly based on attendance, show votes, how much exp you made, and your opponents / federations / your own popularity

a salary per fed appearance (varies depending on star of contract and how much money the show makes etc)

It also boosts you popularity which results in more fans which results in more fe when you take part in invitationals

How do i join a federation?

To join a federaton you must be level 5+ or a level 4+ if you are a supporter,

After that you need to get in contact with a gm and see if they will offer you a contract. Its best to do this either through the forums, or through pm's as asking in chat can get you a warning.

What info do gm's want to help me get a contract?

The gm's will generally want something like a sample RP and a quick bio / gimmick of your wrestler.

The RP is a roleplay your acting out your wrestlers actions.

A biography is your wrestlers history, (not palmares) things like where he grew up, why he's a wrestler stuff like that

A gimmick is their in ring gimmick, whether it be a multimillionaire playboy who wants to get his fingers wet, or a biker who just has fun beating people up.

How much do i get paid for the different types of contract?

(1) Jobber 0.875% of a shows ticket income.

(2) Mid Carder 1.75% of a shows ticket income

(3) Main Eventer 2.65% of a shows ticket income

(4) Star 3.5% of a shows ticket income

(5) Super Star 4.35% of a shows ticket income

(6) Legend 5.25% of a shows ticket income

I've been offered a contract, where do i find it?

click on the main board, and then on the federations link. From here scroll to the bottom of the federations and the offer is just above the google ad (if its not there then the gm probably retracted the offer)

I don't like this federation how can i leave?

OK first go to the federations screen and you should see a button to view your contract.

you have two options. Option one is to request a free breach. This would mean that your GM would have to agree to let you go.

The other is to pay to breach the contract, this involves paying a lump sum to break the contract, also you cannot join another federation until a certain amount of time has elapsed. However this is the best way to leave if your in a hurry and your gm won't let you go.

My GM has gone missing, what can we do?

cry. If a gm is gone for too long then the federation is dissolved. It sucks but its what happens.

Elistara's guide to getting a contract

As a rule, not everything in this guide will apply to all GMs. There are many different GMs, from many different parts of the world. Naturally they will do things differently and their own way. This guide is meant to serve as a general guide.

Things to do and not to do before sending the PM:

1) First off you must be level four if you are a supporter, or level five if you are not a supporter. Do not even bother asking a GM for a contract until then. They are not being mean or snobbish, that is hard coded into the game. You might be the most entertaining level two character ever, and the GM may enjoy talking, PMing, and/or IMing you, but they cannot offer you a contract until you hit the appropriate level.

2) Behave in chat. Maybe you disagree with the rules, hate the moderators, you are a rebel, etc... spin it how you want. GMs run their shows and feds in different ways. If you are seen as a troublemaker who cannot follow rules, why would they want to risk having you in their fed doing the same thing?

3) Do not PM them using chat-speak. While it may be convent or easier for some, it simply looks bad. Since it is quicker and easier it also gives the impression of being lazy. That may not be the case, but fed shows are based on text. You may not be lazy, but first impressions are very important.

4) Come up with a gimmick. Who is your wrestler? What does he/she want? Why did he/she become a wrestler? Is he/she a face (good guy/girl), a tweener (one who goes back and forth, or does not fall into a category), or a heel (bad guy/girl)?

5) Never ask for a contract in chat. It is against the rules:

"General Managers cannot talk about contracts in chat. Please talk to them about joining their federation in private messages. "

Not only can it earn you warnings/bans, if a GM responds to it they can earn the same.

6) Watch the Federation Shows of the Federation you would like to join. That is an excellent way to see what each GM puts in their show, and a decent way to see what they expect from members of their federation. Using The Silencer as an example; he does not put people in shows who do not role-play.

Now that the basic etiquette is out of the way, on to sending the PM:

1) Do not PM any GM with your stats/palmares. Most GMs will simply delete the PM without responding to it. Instead send them a role-play and your gimmick. If you are not familiar with role-play, think of the 'backstage' things that happen in professional wrestling. Think of the interviews, or when a wrestler has a microphone and issues a challenge to people.

2) Again, do not use chat speak, and spell/grammar check your entries. Microsoft word is an excellent tool. If you do not have it, Mozilla/Firefox has spell check built into it. If you use another browser and do not have Microsoft word, you can use spellcheck.net. it is a free online tool, and no download is required. As I mentioned earlier, Federation Shows are text-based. People only see what they read. I can't speak for everyone, but I would find a show full of "ur week n i can beet u" rather dull. Spelling and grammar are important because GMs tend to have a ton of editing to do. The last thing they will want is to hire someone to lazy to do their own minor editing, making more work for them.

3) Be patient. Not all GMs are in the same time zone, and they get tons of PMs from people asking them for a contract, and from people in their Federation. They are very busy people. Spamming them with more PMs, or bugging them about it in chat tends to lead to them blocking future PMs, and to them ignoring you in chat. While the "There are always other GMs" principle is true, remember that many of them lurk, and GMs talk to each other. Don't be afraid to PM more then one GM at a time either. You may get more then one offer, so you may wind up with more then one offer.

4) Don't be afraid to ask questions. There is nothing wrong with asking "What do you expect of me if you hire me?", or "What type of wrestler do you need in your federation?". Again, not all GMs will like this, or take the time to answer these questions, but do you really want a lazy GM? Some GMs will appreciate questions like this because it will show them you are willing to work with them to put on the best show.

I am sure I have forgotten points/ideas I had in my last version, but I forgot to back it up (which I am doing this time). As before, any question/comments are welcome, and I will do my best to answer/address each and every one of them (I do have a 40 hour a week job).

What things should i not do, if i want to get a contract

  • DO NOT - Spam the GM's with pm's asking "can i join your roster"
  • DO NOT - Send the GM's messages which contain all your stats and palmares, they don't care
  • DO NOT - Ask for contracts in chat
  • DO NOT - Demand at least X level of contract,
  • DO NOT - Spam your current GM with questions like "when is my next match"

How can i view my Rosters past shows?

There are two ways, one is to go through the federation page on the main board, and click on the image of the calander. Then scout around until you find your feds show

The other way is to visit this link

http://www.thewrestlinggame.com/wgame/show.asp

It'll show you a list of the shows and how many people attended etc.

How do i become a gm?

On the navigation bar click on the settings menu. At the top left of this is a GM application form. just fill this out and drop it in.

If you meet the requirements and your idea's are good enough then you'll be chosen However GM's are only chosen once per season, and there's generally a minimum of a 1 month waiting list to become one. So when you drop in your application, forget about it, theres no point waiting for a response if your never going to get one (and if your not accepted you won't)

The helpers will not give help in filling out the forms, because, if you can't figure out that yourself, your not going to make it far as a gm.

It says on the application that GM's can make some fe. How much?

GM's get around 1% of a shows ticket sales, pretty much what a jobber gets this is why the majority of good GM's give themselves a jobber contract, since they're making a fair bit of FE anyway.

What's a Vice GM?

A vice GM is an assistant to the gm, they don't handle any of the behind the scenes stuff that the GM's do, they basically have power to create matches and segments for a rosters card (show)

This goes from booking matches to editing them and confirming the show. However this is voluntary work and if you really want a reward for it, then just put it as a note if you apply to become a gm yourself.

Where can i see the GM school video?

What are the GM rules again? I forgot

  1. GM's have to be model players, do not break any of the normal chat rules.
  2. This includes no recruiting or contract talk in chat
  3. Do not contact wrestlers who are currently under contract with offers of new contracts. Doing so can result in your roster being deleted
  4. Do not ask your fed members to downgrade other rosters, and likewise do not attempt to increase your votes with empty promises such as higher contract payouts etc.
  5. GM's cannot sign up to join the federations of other GM's. (you can still sign yourself to your own fed though)
  6. GM's may not use any WWE or TNA images or trademarks in their showsThis includes animated gif files and video clips.
  7. You may not confirm a show if your roster has less then 40 wrestlers within it.
  8. If you are a GM and you know or think you may be absent from the game for 7 days or longer, please inform one of the following
    1. Viktorija
    2. Insurmountable Odds
    3. Silencer
    4. MatchStickGeezer

Breaking any of the above rules will get you a warning, and possibly end up with your fed being dissolved.

How can i improve my shows?

i can give a few pointers yes.

  1. splitters, put some kind of image between the segments and matches etc in your show, this will help separate the text making it easier to read
  2. properly edit and organize your shows, adding commentary to matches and changing the colors of peoples names etc in segments
  3. use a fair amount of pictures but don't go overboard, a few here and there are nice, they stop it being a wall of text, too many and your just overcompensating for a bad show.
  4. Try to create compelling story-lines to make your shows more interesting, this will attract more people to watch and vote for your show.
  5. Be careful when booking matches, remember your on a budget so avoid matches that are extremely expensive.
  6. Make sure to get input from your roster on things to do with the show, this will help build more story-lines which coincide with the other players ideals for their wrestlers
